The quarter panels were from a rust free donor Coronet that Chris managed to find. The tops of the original quarters were kept to help maintain the body lines.
The donor quarters were very carefully trimmed and fitted. It takes a lot of patience to do the welding as you can only weld a very short stitch at a time to prevent warping the metal
The fenders, doors and hood were test fitted to ensure the body lines and the gaps were correct.
It's almost impossible to find a Manitoba Mopar with its original floor pans. Mopars are unibody construction so full length aftermarket floor pans were welded in on each side to make everything nice and solid
The next step in the restoration is to get the R/T on a rotisserie and start prepping for paint. The Hemi motor was purchased from Daryl Klassen and was treated to a roller cam upgrade. It idles nice and smooth and has enough power to get the R/T moving in a hurry.
A test stand at Daryl Klassen's shop was used to fire up the Hemi. It's a good idea to fire a fresh motor before you put it in the car to sort out any leaks or break in issues. You can see the Hemi Fire Up Video on You-Tube. Near the end of the video the mufflers were removed to get the full "Hemi Sound".
