The Dart was purchased by my Dad in 1980 for $400.00, because it was burning oil. My Dad being a mechanic this was a good purchase since he always wanted a 4bbl 67 Dart.
The car was originally a 237 2bbl with a 7 1/4 rear end, which he quickly converted to a 273 4bbl. At 16 years old in 1988 the car became mine of course with strict warning of how to treat it with respect.
I have cared for the car since then.
For years my Dad always talked about how cool it would be to find a 340 to put in the car.
Finally in October 2008 I located a 68 340 bored .030 already machined in Halifax. The car now has a fresh 68 340 engine with a new rebuilt Carter AVS, thanks to Daryl Klassen,
and a 3.23 8.75 sure grip posi rear end. My Dad and I have spent many hours bringing the Dart back to life. The interior is basically original minus carpet and front seat backs all done circa 1993.
It spent the winter at auto Resurrection to have the body and paint done. It was a real feat finding parts for a 67 Dart, but thanks to Daryl Klassen and Pat Kanigua the car looks better than it did in 1967.
I am ready to cruise!
